a building has many pasts. before housing brooklyn's public access tv center & urban glass studios, the brooklyn strand was a live theatre & movie house. apparently, it was the first brooklyn movie house to be wired for "talkies." al jolson's the jazz singer opened here. check out, http://cinematreasures.org/theater/1407/ for more info.
